Let's face it. If you're not there to play, you're there because you're competing and snowboarders are the baddest of the bad when it comes to kicking tricks. Snowboarding is a cold sport, especially as boarders can approach speeds of 80 mph in some places and kicking tricks inevitably winds up with a face plant every now and again. Jackets now are much lighter and less bulky than even those from just a few years ago. Not only that, but new materials make them warmer, more wind resistant and water repellant than ever before. Unlike their competitors that don't have these new jackets, snowboarders will have an advantage by being able to be better protected and more mobile.

The great thing about these jackets is that they also look great. Just because they're tools being used to protect the snowboarder doesn't mean they can't be fashionable, and they are. New jackets look as great off the slopes as they are useful on them. This means when the snowboarder comes off a run and packs it in for the day, they don't have to dump their slope jacket for one that looks good for conferences and shows.
